Alexander Vinogradov & Vladimir Dubosarskiy
May 19 — May 30, 2012
Triumph gallery
As part of Alexander Vinogradov and Vladimir Dubosarskiy’s major project "Retrospective," the Triumph Gallery at the Winzavod Contemporary Art Center will present a continuation of the exhibition, featuring works not included in the general exhibition.
"Retrospective" will showcase works by Vinogradov and Dubosarskiy from the past 10 years, which were unfinished at various times and therefore never shown to the public. According to the artists, realizing their responsibility for their unfinished works at some point, they decided to breathe new life into these "creative failures." Maintaining the chronology of their paintings, the exhibition will be a journey through time and the creative space of this renowned artistic duo.

On the one hand, it is a difficult yet captivating journey through time; on the other, it is a liberation from the shackles of the past and an opportunity to move forward. For Dubosarskiy and Vinogradov, this will be the first exhibition in which the images are not united by a single concept—instead, they share a common destiny. These chance combinations, unforeseen and uncontrollable by the artists, create a vast space for all sorts of interpretations.

The images will be accompanied by a musical installation and commentary from the artists, who will serve as audio guides for the exhibition. They will share the history of their works, their successes and failures, and shed light on the inner workings of the art world. Their sincere narratives will serve as a kind of confession to the viewer about art itself and the path they have chosen in life.
