MTS DESIGN DAYS

December 2 — December 5, 2021
Triumph Gallery
The increased collaboration between artists and brands indicates an important shift in the worlds of art and product design, the boundaries of which are increasingly permeable.
On December 2−5, the Triumph Gallery will host a series of MTS Design Days events, a joint project between the gallery and MTS. It will focus on the increasingly obvious connection between product design and contemporary art.

The increased collaboration between artists and brands indicates an important shift in the worlds of art and product design, the boundaries of which are increasingly permeable. Product designers are often called artists, while artists endow objects with new and alternative meanings using a special language of modern art, giving even the most utilitarian of them uniqueness and timelessness.

At the MTS Design Week exhibition at the Triumph Gallery, 22 artists presented the results of their collaborations with various brands over the past few years. Among the objects created within the framework of such cooperation, there are both decorative objects — masks, figurines — and more applied ones — clothes, furniture, jewelry. The collaboration genre, well-known in art for several decades, is currently experiencing its heyday, connected, on the one hand, with the search for more and more new and elegant ways of brand interaction with the customer, on the other — with the openness of artists to unusual projects in different genres. Each of the works shown at the exhibition is a true demonstration of how fantastic art and design rationality can coexist equally, combining in amazing diverse and unique forms.
