One Night

Evsti x Syoma Bomse
February 27 — March 22, 2026
Gallery "Triumph"
The exhibition brings together individual projects by two artists, preserving the autonomy of each presentation while forming parallel narrative lines.
Triumph Gallery presents the collaborative project One Night by Evsti x Syoma Bomse. The exhibition brings together individual projects by two artists, preserving the autonomy of each presentation while forming parallel narrative lines. In the dialogue between the works, a complex structure of images, сюжетов, and states emerges, unified by the atmosphere of the night city. Evsti x Syoma Bomse are representatives of the street wave of the Nizhny Novgorod art scene and members of the Bomse crew artistic collective.

Founded in 2009 as a graffiti team, the group now works across a wide range of media, including street art, performance, painting, sculpture, carpet embroidery, custom tattooing, photography, and video art. Through the aesthetics of "post-vandalism" and primitivism, the artists address issues of contemporary society, the urban environment, the exploration of personal boundaries, and mythological imagery.

Triumph Gallery’s collaboration with Bomse crew began in 2023 with the traveling group exhibition System Assembly. Chronicle of Blooming Events, shown in Moscow, Kazan, and Perm. The artists are currently represented by the Nizhny Novgorod gallery 9B.

Evsti Bomse
Evsti Bomse’s visual language has been shaped by street art and photography, early cinema, and an interest in 16th-century Dutch painting. Attention to detail forms the basis of his artistic method. Each work resembles a film still or a fragment of a photograph, with their inherent sense of incompleteness and spatial limitation. The exhibition at Triumph Gallery brings together painting and graphic works. In his new series, the artist constructs an authorial model of the contemporary world, reflecting its absurdity and tragedy.

Through imagery, characters, and unusual perspectives, Evsti invites the viewer to reflect on justice, social roles, and the mechanisms of urban life. The city becomes a model of reality and a field for observing human behavior. The principle of fragmented episodes forming complex narrative lines underlies his entire practice. Individual elements, compositional solutions, and characters are repeated multiple times, forming an internal system of images. In almost all of his paintings, the action takes place "one night": darkness heightens tension, concentrates attention on what is happening, and at the same time emphasizes the smallest details.

Syoma Bomse
Syoma Bomse experiments with painting and drawing, creates custom tattoos, and continues to work with street art. The exhibition features new painting and graphic series, as well as the artist’s first experience with video art and performance.

In his works, Syoma combines elements of metal and punk subcultures with naive, associative thinking. Many of his works are autobiographical. His characters—"former children," as the artist calls them—find themselves in enclosed spaces of personal experiences of happiness, loneliness, and inner search. The gallery space becomes an important part of the exhibition. The artist constructs separate narratives across different rooms, turning the exhibition into something like a house: moving from the "kitchen" to the "children's room" and the "living room," the viewer gradually approaches the most intimate zone—the "bedroom," where the most personal and vulnerable statements are concentrated.

Evsti Bomse
Born in 1996, Nizhny Novgorod. Artist and member of the Nizhny Novgorod street art team and collective Bomse crew. Lives and works in Nizhny Novgorod. His practice functions as a voice of justice, ironically and subtly exposing timeless vices and the modern sins of humanity. His themes include greed, hypocrisy, colonialism, social inequality, cultural appropriation, urbanization, environmental issues, and more.

Syoma Bomse
Born in 1994, Nizhny Novgorod. Member of Bomse crew. Lives and works in Nizhny Novgorod. According to Syoma, during his school years he wanted to enroll in an art school, but his parents sent him to study music instead. In 2006, under the influence of street subcultures and music, he discovered graffiti. In 2013, together with members of the Bomse graffiti team, he began actively working in the streets. Around the same time, he became interested in punk culture, whose music, style, and ideas significantly influenced his artistic development. He occasionally performs as a vocalist in performances. Today, Syoma Bomse primarily works with painting and drawing, using found materials and experimenting with techniques. His subjects are often imbued with mysticism, addressing themes of vice, faith, love, and friendship. His artistic practice has been influenced by the aesthetics of Art Brut, neo-primitivism, punk, and various forms of marginal art.
