The EXTENSION cycle, launched by "Triumph" galleries in 2016, is based on the study of artistic scenes of countries and regions that historically occupied a peripheral position in relation to the dominant narratives of art history. Each exhibition of the cycle examined how various historical circumstances affect the development of artistic practices and determine their features, and represented the modern state of these artistic scenes. In total, the series hosted 12 exhibitions of artists from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Israel, Iran, the Republic of Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Romania, Finland and Estonia.

EXTENSION.JP she focuses on modern Japan and studies its unique clash between deeply rooted traditions and the world of digital modernity: new technologies, pop culture, and the consumer lifestyle often obscure the historical legacy. Name of the exhibition — "EXTENSION.JP: reflected Echo" - refers to a state where the past and present enter into complex and sometimes contradictory relationships, forming a modern understanding of Japanese identity and determining the ways of its existence. The exhibition examines the" middle zone " between them.

The appeal to memory and time is manifested through the themes of nature, urban space and personal experience. Traditional Japanese materials and techniques become the basis for thinking about melancholy, loneliness, changeability of space and the elusive moment. A different range of practices applies to mass culture and modern consumption, studying the replication, accuracy, and formation of individual experience within the saturated visual environment.

The paintings, sculptures, graphics, installations and digital works presented at the exhibition form a wide range of artistic expressions, united by attention to how historical memory, technological changes, mass images and individual perception are intertwined in modern Japanese culture. "EXTENSION.JP: reflected Echo" becomes a general perspective that allows us to consider these processes at the same time — as part of a single modern reality.
