June 1 — November 24, 2013
Giardini, Venice
The 55th Venice Biennale, one of the most famous and important exhibitions of contemporary art, opens on June 1.
Russian artists AES+F have participated in this event twice — in 2007 with the 3-channel video "The Last Uprising" presented in the Russian Pavilion, and in 2009, as part of the parallel program of the biennale, the premiere of the 9-channel video installation "Feast of Trimalchio" took place. In 2013, AES+F will participate in two biennale projects at once.

The Silk Road exhibition is taking place in the City Gardens (Giardini) in the Venice Pavilion under the supervision of Renzo Dubbini. Venice was one of the most important points on the trade route, connecting East and West, and by the 12th century the city had its own production of various high-quality goods. The Silk Road exhibition gathers six artists from Italy and the East, who use technical innovations in their works and continue the high traditions of ancient masters. AES+F presents the triptych "Arrival of the Golden Rook" from the Trimalchio Feast project (2010), "Panorama No. 2" from the Allegoria Sacra project (2011), as well as the sculpture "Composition #4" from the Last Rebellion project (2007).
