feast of trimalchio

aes+f
December 8 2013 — January 16, 2014
Triumph gallery
The world premiere of the Trimalchio Feast project took place as part of the parallel program of the 53rd Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art in the New Arsenal in 2009.
AES+F presents the Trimalchio Feast video installation for the first time in Krasnoyarsk. The multi-channel video installation "The Feast of Trimalchio" is a modern interpretation of the preserved chapter of the novel "Satyricon" by Gaius Petronius the Arbiter, the great ancient Roman writer, contemporary of Emperor Nero. The mesmerizing video immerses the viewer in the space of the modern multi-star hotel paradise all inclusive, where he becomes a witness to such human vices as gluttony and waste, symbolized by Trimalchio, a character in the novel "Satyricon".
